Dream House Part I

Being a Visual Merchandiser exposes you to many aspects of art and design, when I first became a VM I didn't care much for interior decorating. I remember getting dragged into Dusk with mum and loathing every minute of it, now, a couple of years later I am the one dragging people inside the store to swoon and gush over tea light candles, glass trays and pebbles (to place the candles on...clearly.) Since my interests have shifted I often find myself imagining (daydreaming/planning) what my ideal home would look like (sans financial restrictions.) I'm particularly fond of the whole bohemian, ethnic, tribal aesthetic where your wooden floorboards are covered in textured rugs, prints are clashing, tassel's on everything, Moroccan style bottles/vases/urns in various sizes/styles/colours are grouped together with plants and other unique ornaments. Combining the mixture of woods, fabric and lanterns would hang and drape from the roof. What I love most about this 'style' is that no rules exist, you are encouraged to push boundaries and bring together as many shapes, colours, prints and textures you can. Below are images I find inspirational and contain elements I would love to include in my own home (whenever that times comes...considering I can't even afford the maintenance of my own car I doubt it will be any time soon.)
